N4.7bn: Obanikoro returns N134m to EFCC ….says I’ll repay N450m in 2017

A former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, on Monday returned N30m to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. This brings the total amount of money he has returned to the EFCC to N134m.

A source at the EFCC said, “Obanikoro came on Monday and presented a draft of about N30m. Initially we did not want to collect it because it is small compared to what he is supposed to have given us. However, the legal department advised us to collect it.”

Obanikoro had in October returned N104m to the commission. The ex-minister, who returned to Nigeria last month after spending about 15 months in the United States, was accused of receiving N4.7bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser under the leadership of Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.).

Obanikoro had said in his statement of oath at the EFCC that after receiving the money in 2014, he gave N1.219bn to the then governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, while N1.3bn was given to the PDP candidate in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

He also confessed to giving Fayose a separate $5.377m at Spotless Hotel in Ekiti State in the presence of party leaders including the then PDP Secretary, Mr. Tope Aluko.

Obanikoro was said to have kept about N785m for himself, which he allegedly spent while campaigning ahead of the PDP governorship primary in Lagos State. Mr. Jimi Agbaje won the primary.

However, the EFCC asked Obanikoro to return about N584m out of which he had already returned N134m.

At the EFCC office on Monday, Obanikoro promised the detectives that he would return the remaining N450m in 2017.

The source said, “About N450m is remaining and Obanikoro has promised to pay the rest in 2017. He will also be reporting at our office every two weeks.”

At the Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Nnamdi Dimgba last week, Mr. Alade Sunday, a manager at Zenith Bank, narrated how Obanikoro delivered about N1.219bn to Fayose’s aide, Abiodun Agbele, for onward transmission to his boss.

He had also said it took the cashiers about 10 days to count the money.

Sunday had said Obanikoro flew with the cash to Akure Airport and the money was loaded into bullion vans.

He had said, “When we got to the airport, we waited for some minutes before the aircraft arrived. When the aircraft offloaded its passengers, one of them appeared to me to be Senator Musliu Obanikoro and the other one appeared to be his ADC, Adewale.

“Agbele walked up to them and had a discussion with them. Thereafter, he signalled me to bring the van. Bags loaded with cash were loaded into the van and Obanikoro’s ADC, Agbele and I drove back to the bank.”

Meanwhile, it was learnt Omisore had appealed to the EFCC to return his passport to him to enable him to travel out of the country.

A source at the commission said, “We cannot return his passport to him now because he has not yet returned half of the money. He has returned only N350m out of N1.3bn. When he returns half, then the EFCC can consider returning the passport to him.”

Final year student robbed and murdered by her cultist lover

- Final year female student of the Delta State Polytechnic, simply identified as Julia, gruesomely murdered by her cultist lover

Tragedy struck the Ogwashi-Uku community of Delta State on Tuesday as a final year female student of the Delta State Polytechnic, simply identified as Julia, was allegedly murdered by her cultist lover.

The deceased, who was in the department of Mathematics and Statistics, was murdered in her room in a private hostel off Polytechnic Road in Ogwashi-Uku
According to one of her co-students in the hostel, the man, whose name has yet to be ascertained, had spent the previous night in the room of the deceased, and had stolen her ATM card

She said “After her cultist lover had left the following day she received an alert of a N100,000 deduction from her bank account where she discovered her ATM card was missing. Not comfortable with the development, she went straight to her bathroom to take her bath. Immediately after that, she received another alert of N45,000 making it N145,000 that was [withdrawn] from her account by the unknown person”

Before leaving for the bank, she complained to us [about] the strange development

On her return from the bank where she went to complain, she told us the bank assured her that the culprit could only be known and arrested after going through their CCDC camera. She was told to go home and report back the following [day] before meeting her untimely death,” the co-student said

The source speculated that unknown to anyone in the hostel, the suspect sneaked into Julia’s room and murdered her with a battle axe, locked the corpse inside the room and ran away with her keys

Not until the next morning when everybody became apprehensive of her whereabouts and we [had] to break her door where we saw her lifeless body with blood stains everywhere in the room

Immediately we raised the alarm and everybody in the area rushed down and the matter was reported to the Ogwashi-Uku Police Station,” the source narrated

Repeated calls to the new Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniameka, were not answered. However, a source at the Ogwashi-Uku station who didn’t want to be identified confirmed the story, adding that the police and the bank are currently working around the clock to arrest the murderer

NCC gives reasons why they ordered increase in data tariff and it makes no sense at all

Here is the big reason why #NCC asked mobile data operators to raise #data #tariffs but wait do they know how cheap data is in other continents, which kind country be this why don’t they ask the smaller companies why their data is so expensive and see how the government incompetence has driven things to become more expensive, read below sha…

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has directed mobile telephone operators in the country to jerk up data tariffs with effect from December 1.

In a letter to the big operators, NCC said: “The Commission has carefully reviewed all submissions and hereby make the following Determinations: the interim price floor for Data Services is No.90k/MB for big operators.

This rate will subsist pending the finalisation of the study on the Determination of Cost Based Pricing for Retail Broadband and Data Services in Nigeria; in order to promote a level playing field for all operators in the industry, encourage small operators and new entrant to acquire market share and operate profitably.

Small operators and new entrants are hereby exempted from price floor for data services; for avoidance of doubt, a small operator is one that has less than 7.5% of market share and a new entrant is an operator that has operated less than three years in the market.”

NCC is of the opinion that without a price floor, the dominant operators can engage in predatory pricing to drive down other operators, meaning the industry could be moving towards a monopoly.

A senior NCC official told TheCable that CDMA operators – such as Multilinks and Starcomms – were muscled out of the by the Big Four because of their market power.

“At the rate they are crashing data tariffs, there is every chance that they will soon kill all the small operators and new entrants. Part of the functions and duties of NCC is to check monopolistic and oligopolistic behaviours in the telecom market,” the official said.

Globacom currently charges 21k/MB apparently because of the economies of scale advantage, compared to Smile which charges 84k/MB, in order to break even.

Under the new tariff regime, Smile can continue to charge 84k but Glo will have to move up to 90k/MB – a 328% increase.

Shocking –  Man disguises as pretty female prostitute to rob other men

A full grown man was caught pretending to be a woman who sells sex to men for money and has since been arrested in Uganda.

His or her name is Ivan Bebeto, arrested by police in Kampala after several men claimed that he took money from them under false pretense.

Most of them described him as a beautiful woman who wore a wig, short skirt and make up.

The man, who calls himself Queen, has been operating through East and Central Africa including Nairobi (Kenya), Kampala (Uganda), Bujumbura (Burundi) and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).

Bebeto was arrested after a man who was interested in him paid for sexual favours, believing she is a woman.

He kept giving the man excuses why he couldn’t sleep with him even though he had already received a down payment from the wealthy man.

Bebeto said he could not go to his house, claiming he felt more comfortable in his room, and thus asked the supposed customer to accompany him to a room where he kept his items.

It’s from this that the man suspected Babeto might be a criminal pretending to be a girl. He quickly informed the police who raided the apartment only to be shocked that he was a man and not a woman after questioning him

29-year-old defrauds Saudi Doctor by pretending to be Inspector General of police

29 year-old impersonates IG Idris, defrauds Saudi doctor off $10,000

Ekperebuike Akadonye, has been arrested for parading himself as the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on the Internet.

The 29-year-old, also allegedly defrauded a Saudi Arabia-based doctor, identified as Hassan Alkahallaf, to the tune of $10,000.

Alkahallaf was said to have earlier been defrauded by Nigerians via the Internet on two occasions, while efforts to recover the funds had proved abortive.

Akadonye got Alkahallaf into his trap when he introduced himself as the IG and promised to help the doctor recover his loses.

He reportedly demanded $10,000 from Alkahallaf to facilitate the legal processes of the recovery and the victim was said to have paid the sum into his (Akadonpe’s) account in instalments.

The suspect, in his statement, confessed to the fraud, saying he took to the crime after his shops were demolished by the government.

He said, “I am a trader and I had shops in Mbano, Imo State. But they were demolished by the government. One of my friends introduced me to Internet fraud. I started by searching for prominent persons on the Internet. When I found Dr Alkahallaf, he told me he had some funds trapped in Nigeria and he wanted to claim them. I presented myself to him as the IG and told him the President had mandated me to assist fraudsters’ victims to get back their lost funds. I asked him to pay for a lawyer. He believed and paid me.”

A police source told our correspondent that the doctor contacted the IG through the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Nigeria after realising that he had been duped again.

Woman who claimed her husband beat her up has denied being abused by her husband

This is just funny which is why wen there’s a domestic abuse in a home close to people they just pretend not to know what’s going on until someone gets killed well,

A letter from the lawyers of the former national chairman of ALGON and gubernatorial candidate of Progressive People’s Alliance (PPA) in Abia State, Chief Chikwe Udensi, had requested that blogs take down the news of two weeks ago, where his wife’s niece Irene Amos Abott shared photos of the battered woman, Mrs Chidimma Udensi, claiming the woman was physically abused by her husband after she asked for a divorce (read here).

A day later, the same niece in question shared a video of Mrs Udensi showing her bruised face and saying she gave her niece permission to release the video online as she was too tired to talk at the time.but as at today the ‘victimized’ woman seem to have changed her story and denied that she asked no one to publish her story, unfortunately for her and her family right now, there’s a video proof of her asking that her story be heard and spread. If you look below you would see the signed affidavit below…

The things we do for men –  Toke talks about how her ex- husband made her bleach her skin to keep him

- Sextape, bleaching to please him, Toke talks about her relationship with Maje in her  book

Toke Makinwa’s soon to be released book – On Becoming – in which she shared her incredible survival story. Here are some excerpts.
The Wedding

“It was my wedding day. I was happy, yet I was waiting for something to happen. Maje had disappointed me three times before. We would pick a date to go to the wedding registry and he would call it off. It wasn’t until we shared our first dance that I finally believed that it had happened.

We got back together (after a quarrel because Maje took ‘an ex’ to a party he bluntly told Toke he wasn’t taking her to and he and the ex were ‘touching freely and kissing’)… Maje invited me to Abuja…. As I was putting away my things I saw all kinds of feminine items – earrings on the dresser, sanitary pads in the drawer….”

The Compromizing Video and Bleaching

“At some point while we were dating, Maje had asked if he could tape us having sex. This was a new one for me but I would do anything to keep my man, or so I thought, and so I obliged. But I was nervous afterwards because I didn’t want the tape to get into the wrong hands.

I dragged the file back to his desktop, and I could tell from the stilled image in the video that the person in it was not me. I clicked play and watched horrified as Maje had sex with Anita. Watching that video, all of the inadequacies I thought I had dealt with over the years came rushing back.

I had been with Maje from when I was an immature teenager, through my twenties, and for most of those years, Anita had been the standard I had to live up to. I had lightened my skin at some point – Anita was half Lebanese and half Ibibio, and Maje made me feel like he preferred her lighter skin.”

Another child

“There was a 70-day fasting and prayer programme at my church. I joined in: I was praying for Maje and I. On the final day, I asked God to reveal why Maje and I couldn’t find peace with each other. I opened my email address and typed Maje’s email address in. I went through email after email until I found pictures of a boy that looked exactly like Maje….”

Female law student humiliated for how she dressed to class

The Female student, Joaninne Nanyange, took to Facebook to rant about how she was stopped at the entrance to her faculty on Wednesday by two women for ‘indecent dressing’.

She says the uniformed woman asked her to pull her skirt  down as far as it would go…

See what she wrote below;

“Today, dressed like this, I went to the Law Development Centre to attend classes. Unlike all other days, I saw two women seated right outside the Centre’s gate, one dressed in a Khaki Police uniform

It was an unusual sight and I thought there was something or someone epic on campus. I got off the boda boda and walked towards the gate. The uniformed woman flagged me down and being the law abiding citizen that I am, I stopped. She asked me to pull my skirt down to see how far down it could go. I burst into laughter. Her request didn’t make sense. She insisted, quite seriously

I told her that was the farthest my skirt could go and there was no need to pull it. The other woman, ever with a very satisfied grin, told me I could not access the campus because my skirt was not long enough for LDC standards. I was shocked

the two women laboured to explain. Apparently, skirts like mine attract the boys and men that we study with and bar them from concentrating. So they could not be allowed!!!!!!”

Osun PDP suspends Omisore

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has suspended a former Deputy Governor of the state, Senator Iyiola Omisore for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities.
This suspension of Omisore and other PDP chieftains is contained in a statement issued on Friday and signed  by Chairman,  Mr. Soji Adagunodo and the Secretary, Mr. Bola Ajao.

Apart from Omisore, the Adagunodo-led executive also suspended the chairman of the other faction of the party, Dr. Bayo Faforiji;  Bunmi Jenyo;  Chief Ojo Williams and  Bade Falade for the same offence.
The statement read, ” The state executive committee received recommendation  from  various wards to local governments and senatorial districts,  to suspend the following  PDP members : Dr. Bayo Faforiji,  Senator Iyiola Omisore,  Rev. Bunmi Jenyo,  Chief Ojo Williams and Hon Bade Falade.
“In accordance with the provisions of the PDP constitution,  and inherent powers vested on the the State executive committee of the party,  the said individuals are hereby suspended as recommended.”
The Adagunodo-led faction said Omisore should go and clear his name from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before seeking to participate in the affairs of party.
Although Omisore could not be reached for his immediate reaction but one of his allies told our correspondent that the suspension was a joke , adding that the former deputy governor would react soon.
But a faction of the PDP loyal to Omisore had on Thursday expelled  the national secretary of the PDP, Prof. Wale Oladipo and  Adagunodo.
The factional chairman of the party, Dr. Bayo Faforiji, who made the announcement  during a congress at the PDP secretariat located along Osogbo/Gbongan Road on Thursday also expelled the immediate chairman of the party, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa as well as Secretary of Adagunodo-led executive, Bola Ajao.
Faforiji alleged that the expelled PDP leaders were involved in instituting the suit which nearly prevented the PDP governorship candidate in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede from participating in the election.

Rooney hits out at media after Manchester United win

The striker set a club record during the victory over Feyenoord and was far from pleased to again be asked about claims he was drinking at a wedding last week

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney insists he did not even step foot into the wedding that caused a storm while he was on international duty with England.

The forward fumed at the media last week, slamming their “disgraceful” coverage since he was pictured in The Sun allegedly drinking at a wedding in the team hotel in the wake of England’s win over Scotland.

And Rooney did not take kindly to the saga being brought up again after he became United’s record European goalscorer with a strike in their 4-0 Europa League win over Feyenoord at Old Trafford.

Asked if the achievement was more special after the off-pitch drama, he told BT Sport: “No, I think all that’s created by people like yourself asking questions now.

“I think people in the media are making a big deal out of nothing.

“I actually didn’t even set foot into the wedding and it’s a shame to have to talk about it now after such a great victory.”

Rooney also picked up an assist in United’s impressive triumph that means they only need a draw in their last Group A match against Zorya Luhansk to guarantee progression to the last 32.

“It was a good win, we are pleased to get four goals,” he said. “The second goal killed the game – at 1-0 you never know what can happen.

“It’s a great feeling obviously to score goals for this club, so I am pleased and sure there are plenty more to come.”

The 36-year-old Champions League and FA Cup winner announced on Thursday he was retiring from professional football.

“I asked him, ‘What great competition have you played and where do people remember you?’ It wasn’t [Zinedine] Zidane.

“The player, I respect him. He’s a great player. But the man and the person not. I let him know.

“For me, he was a player like everyone else. He had to keep up well, and play as he knew how to do, but don’t go to the coach to report what happens in the dressing room.”

Diouf believes Gerrard became scared of him, adding: “He knows that I don’t mince words.

“He did not look in my eyes because he was afraid. And he was afraid to speak to me.

“And when I arrived at Liverpool, it was he who asked me for my jersey, not the opposite.”

Obasanjo is grandfather of corruption in Nigeria –Reps

For describing the National Assembly as being peopled by a gang of unarmed robbers, the House of Representatives has lashed out at ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, calling him the grandfather of corruption.

The Reps described Obasanjo as the most corrupt Nigerian that ever held a public office, adding that he, however, saw himself as the only clean human being.

Specifically, the House called Obasanjo the “grandfather of corruption” in Nigeria.

It added that a reason Obasanjo would never like the members of the National Assembly was the fact that they foiled his third term ambition in 2007 after taking his money and displaying it publicly to put him to shame.

The House accused Obasanjo of churning out outright lies and mischievous innuendos against the National Assembly.

On Wednesday, Obasanjo had attacked the legislature on several fronts, including their salaries/allowances and the alleged diversion of constituency projects.

He had stated, “Once you are a member, you are co-opted and your mouth is stuffed with rottenness and corruption that you cannot opt out as you go home with not less than N15million in a month for a senator and N10m a month for a member of the House of Representatives. The National Assembly is a den of corruption by a gang of unarmed robbers.

“If the judiciary is being cleaned, what of the National Assembly, which stinks much worse than the judiciary? Budget padding must not go unpunished.

“It is a reality, which is a regular and systemic practice. Nobody should pull the wool over the eyes of Nigerians. Ganging up to intimidate and threaten the life of a whistle-blower is deplorable and undemocratic.’’

But, speaking through its Chairman, Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Abdulrazak Namdas, the House said Obasanjo first introduced corruption to the legislature in 1999 when he felt he must bribe legislators to have his way on every issue.

On corruption, Namdas noted, “Undoubtedly, former President Obasanjo is understandably angry with the National Assembly as an institution, having foiled his ambition for a third term in office even after trying to corrupt the members with a bribe of at least N50m each.

“Lest we forget, the person who introduced corruption to the National Assembly is Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. He birthed the 4th Republic National Assembly with corrupt practices from day one; indeed the first day of the Republic.

“He bribed the PDP, ANPP and AD legislators on their inauguration in 1999 to vote against the majority candidate of the PDP, (the late) Dr. Chuba Okadigbo. That was how Senator Evan Enwerem became the Senate President.

“Have we forgotten the sacks of money displayed on the floor of the House of Representatives, being bribe money paid by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to some honourable members to impeach the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Ghali N’abba?

“Have we forgotten that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo used his position as President to extort businessmen and contractors to build his presidential library?

“The list of his corrupt acts while in office is endless. Unquestionably, he is the greatest corrupt person ever to hold office in Nigeria. He remains the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria and lacks the moral authority to discuss corruption or abuse of office in Nigeria as he remains the most corrupt Nigerian on record.”

On the allegation of budget padding and abuse of constituency projects, Namdas said the former President, like other Nigerians, should appreciate the responsibilities of the legislature, which he claimed needed additional funding.

He explained, “He claimed that the National Assembly’s budget is very high, when by all standards, the National Assembly is grossly underfunded and is hampered from effectively and legitimately carrying out its constitutionally-assigned functions.”

The House also observed that Obasanjo had started attacking President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that he was on a familiar path of discrediting any government that would not do his bidding.

“It is unfortunate that he has started his very familiar method of bringing down governments. He did it to Alhaji Shehu Shagari, he did it to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, he did the same to Gen. (Ibrahim) Babangida; and he attempted to bring down (the late) Gen. Sani Abacha before he imprisoned him for treason.

“He made frantic efforts to derail the government of (the late) President Musa Ya’Ardua when he couldn’t use him. He supported President Goodluck Jonathan, but when he refused to take his dictation, he turned against him.

“He supported President Buhari, but since he has sensed that Nigeria is having economic difficulties under him, he has pounced to derail his government.”

Calling the former President a “blackmailer”, the House noted that all the issues he raised against Buhari publicly could have been discussed privately with the President since he had unfettered access to Buhari.

The Senate on Thursday kept mum on Obasanjo’s recent verbal attack on the National Assembly.

Several leaders and members of the upper legislative house declined to reply the ex-President.

The Majority Leader, Senator Ali Ndume, who described Obasanjo as a father, said the ex-president would not be engaged in a media war.

He said, “I don’t want to take issue with my father. You cannot take issue with your father on the pages of newspapers.”

IYC, Mohammed back ex-President

But the Ijaw Youth Council and the convener of the Coalition of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals and Businessmen, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, supported the former President.

The National Publicity Secretary of the IYC, Eric Omare, in an interview with one of our correspondents, said, “I think Obasanjo only stated the obvious and it is commendable. Nigerians are tired of Buhari’s excuses, while Nigerians are dying of hunger as a result of his poor economic policies.’’

Man stabs neighbour’s penis with knife

A 32-year-old man, Obed Fwoms, was on Thursday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stabbing his neighbour with a knife on his manhood.

Fwoms, a resident of Awori in Dopemu, Agege, Ikeja, is standing trial on a charge of wounding and similar acts.

The prosecutor, Insp Nwosu George, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 17 at his residence.

George said that the accused unlawfully assaulted one Emeka Ofoke by stabbing him with a knife on his manhood.

He said, “Ofoke said that he was coming from work when he saw other tenants in the compound gathering around Fwoms.

“The complainant said he asked one of his neighbours what had happened and he was told that Fwoms damaged the ceiling of the house to connect electricity supply without informing others.

“Ofoke, who confronted the accused on what he had done, told him it was only a thief that would damage the ceiling of the house without informing other tenants.

“He said the accused, who was annoyed about the statement, brought out a knife from his pocket and stabbed his manhood with it.

“The complainant said he was quickly rushed to the hospital by his neighbours who were at the scene of the incident.

“The case was reported to the police and the accused was arrested for further questioning.”

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 244 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Section 244 prescribes a three-year jail term for wounding and similar acts.

Magistrate M.O Osinbajo granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties.

The magistrate said the sureties must be gainfully employed and should show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

Further hearing in the case was fixed for Dec. 19.

Lagos State Cancels Monthly Environmental Sanitation

The Lagos State Government has terminated the monthly environmental sanitation exercise which before now held for three hours on the last Saturday of every month.

The State Govt, in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, said the decision to cancel the monthly exercise followed a resolution arrived at Wednesday’s Executive Council meeting which approved the need for a robust review of the environmental laws and procedures in the state in order to meet the present day challenges and to promote a clean and healthy environment.

The Government noted that considering the present economic situation in the country, it was no longer appropriate to restrict movement of people for three hours in a mega city like Lagos at a time they should be pursuing commercial and entrepreneurial activities. According to government, in the last two decades, Lagos has grown exponentially into a mega city with the attendant huge environmental problems associated with managing a population of over twenty million people. But sadly, the environmental laws, policies and procedures being practiced in the State have not been able to match the phenomenal growth and the dream of a 24-hour economy, hence the need for the reform.

Ayorinde said the State Government was not unaware of a recent Court of Appeal judgment. According to him, the thrust of the fresh initiatives, among others, is to promote holistic and modern solutions to the unique environmental challenges confronting the State, while encouraging citizens to voluntarily partner with government to achieve the desired goals.

A statement released by LASG reads. “After a careful consideration, the State Executive Council has therefore resolved that the present economic climate can no longer support the continued lock down of a mega city like Lagos, when the citizens should be free to engage in commercial and entrepreneurial activities that can promote economic growth and prosperity.

“Furthermore, Government will also accelerate the introduction of fresh reforms through the passage of the new harmonized environmental laws that will drive meaningful changes in areas of harmonized billing, waste management, modern Landfill sites, noise pollution, introduction of an Environmental Trust Fund and an Environmental Advisory Council.

“The Government wishes to reiterate its strong commitment to a clean and secure environment for the benefit of its citizens, and will continue to provide the necessary leadership to meet the environmental challenges of a mega city like Lagos. Lagosians and visitors alike are therefore urged to embrace these changes and imbibe a culture of voluntarily maintaining and preserving their environment to create a beautiful and healthy city that we all can be proud of.”

The statement added that the State Government would henceforth be tougher in ensuring expeditious enforcement against contraventions of its policies and regulations and as such, residents should voluntarily comply with the necessary laws and support government in its bid to have a clean and healthy environment.

I Will Continue My Campaign Because I Remain PDP Candidate – Jimoh Ibrahim

In apparent defiance of an Appeal Court ruling that set aside the Justice Abang judgement that ordered INEC to publish Jimoh Ibrahim’s name as the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate for the November 26 election in Ondo State, Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim has vowed to continue with his campaign.

The three-man panel of the appeal court led by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, in a unanimous judgment delivered on Wednesday held that Justice Abang acted without jurisdiction when he made orders against those that were not parties ‎before him.

The appeal court also nullified the primary said to have been conducted by the Biyi Poroye-led state executive of the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the party which produced Ibrahim as the governorship candidate of the party in the state.

According to a report by The Interview, the candidate of the Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP, Ibrahim, dismissed the ruling, saying “the judgment is very vague; it is nebulous and ambiguous.”

He added, “The court did not make a consequential order asking INEC to remove my name; so nobody can remove my name from the ballot. The judgment is very vague; it is nebulous and ambiguous. INEC cannot dare to remove my name.

“INEC will pay billions of naira in damages if it dares to do that. What will it be acting on? There is no consequential order. The order is empty; it’s an empty voyage of discovery!

“I’m continuing my campaign. Nobody can stop me.

“Yes. I’ll invite you to the victory party on Sunday, after the election.”

Buhari to present 2017 budget to National Assembly on December 1

The Presidency may present the 2017 budget on Thursday, December 1 before a joint session of the National Assembly.

This was disclosed by the Senate minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, at the end of the debate on 2017-2019 Medium Term Expenditure Framework, MTEF, and Fiscal Strategy Paper, FSP, yesterday.

Akpabio was reacting to criticisms by some senators that the document should be returned to the executive.

Akpabio noted that doing so would be counter-productive in view of the planned presentation of 2017 budget on Thursday, December 1.

Akpabio, however, said the document should be left with relevant committee to address the flaws.

Akpobio said, “We can see that we don’t have a perfect document in our hands but of course we are looking at assumptions and assumptions may not necessarily be correct.

“I want to suggest that we send it to the committee. Of course, the committee will invite the relevant agencies and ministries of government.

“They will come up with a more realistic MTEF/FSP because I believe also that looking at the date that this was submitted to the Senate – it was submitted to the Senate on the 4th of October – and we are debating it today on the 22nd (of November). So, a lot of indices must have changed.

“Yesterday, you [Senate President Bukola Saraki] made reference to the fact that the president may be coming to the chambers to submit and read the 2017 budget on December 1.

“If that is the case and we send this back now and wait for it to come and debate it, it means that we will not be able to meet that deadline. But if we send it to the committee level, they may come up with something within the next three days that will be more realistic.

“So, my appeal will be that the committee members should take into cognisance all the submissions and observations made today so that we can come up with a more realistic MTEF and FSP.”

Woman attacks snitching neighbour to exposing her infidelity to her husband

-Woman stabs her neighbor for allegedly exposing her adulterous life

A 30-year-old housewife, Adedoyin Adeniyi, has been stabbed in the face by her neighbour, Zainab Fatai, at their residence on Olu Abiodun street, Ijegun, Lagos, for allegedly exposing her adulterous life, Pmexpress reports.

It was gathered that the two women used to be very close and knew some secrets about each other, until their relationship collapsed. Trouble allegedly started after Zainab’s husband, Asis, was informed that his wife has two children for two different men.

Horror – Working wife roasted alive by hoodlums in Abia state (Graphic photography)

-How my wife was roasted inside her office by political hoodlums in Abia— Husband

On Wednesday, November 9, 2016, Amaechi Orioha, a 36 –year-old wife and mother of four, was burnt to death by political thugs while she was in her office at Okpuala, the headquarters of Isiala Ngwa North Council, Abia State, Vanguardngr reports.

It was the day Abia State Chapter of PDP held primary election to select chairmanship candidates ahead of next month’s Local Government elections. Her husband, who narrated the sad incident, pointed accusing fingers at some prominent politicians from Ngwa Ukwu and Umuha areas of the Council.

He said: “On Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at about 11.30 am, I was in my house resting after returning from the farm. I got a call from my elder brother, that my wife was involved in fire outbreak in her office.

When I got to the hospital and saw my wife, I lost control; it was like the end of the world for me. I asked her if she recognized the people that set the office on fire. She mentioned three persons, all of them natives of Isiala Ngwa North.

She said that three boys came to the chairman’s office and one of them made a phone call after which one of them poured the fuel around chairman’s office and lit it up.”

Orioha said that his late wife told him that she was crying and pleading with the arsonists to allow her escape from the fire but they refused. One of her colleagues died instantly during the inferno.

He also lamented that the Transition chairman whom his late wife worked for did not come to see her at FMC or orthopaedic hospital but came to their house after the woman died.

Interjecting, his elder brother, Ugonna Orioha, alleged that: “On October 19, 2016, some notable politicians from Ngwa Ugwu and Umuha visited our community to solicit support for their aspirant running for chairmanship of the council.

Some of them threatened that if one of the aspirants, Ginger Onwusibe, wins the election, blood will flow, that they will burn down the council. Now see what happened about two weeks after.”

I only slept with 3 of them, says shameless football club manager arrested for having gay sex with teen players

Frank Darlington, the manager of Soccer Warriors Football Academy, Pen Cinema, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command, for allegedly sodomising three of his teenage players, in Agege, Punchng reports.
He was arrested last Thursday, after one of the victims reported him to the police. Darlington, 49, who hails from Imo State, allegedly took three footballers to his house on separate occasions after training sessions, and sodomised them.

Darlington’s wife and 3-year-old daughter, lived in Imo State, after the two got divorced in March 2016. The police said the suspect allegedly penetrated the victims’ anuses, and would be charged for sodomy.

While confessing, Darlington said, “It was in February 2015 that the rape started. I usually had sex with my boys just to play with them. It was romance. We had fun together. The last one I did was in July 2016, knowing that it could get me into trouble.

I slept with only three of my footballers. I have been coaching for about 12 years. The sex with the boys was not for any ritual. I only derived fun from it. I knew it was a crime and that was why I stopped this act since July. I pledged not to go back into this.”

One of the victims, Kehinde (pseudonym), told our correspondent that Darlington threatened him that he (Kenny) would die if he told anyone about the sodomy.  The 18-year-old said he was forced to tell his mother when Darlington made it a habit.

He said, “He always had sex with me and with most of us. He started last year. The first time he approached me was after a training session. He said my performance was bad and I should meet him at home for a discussion.

When I went, he molested me. He did not use any protection. He did not give me any money, but he threatened that I would die if I told anyone. I cannot count how many times he had done this to me. I told my mother when I was tired of his abuse.”

Another victim revealed that a large number of footballers at the academy had withdrawn because “he always slept with 2 or 3 of us every week.”

But my wife fell sick and I could not. I dropped out of a nursing school in the Benin Republic. I came back to Nigeria in 2004, and I started the hospital in 2005. Since I started the hospital, only two persons had died in the hospital.

After giving her the initial treatment, I planned to refer her to a bigger hospital, but she died before I could move her. Her baby also died.”
