International news channel, Al Jazeera, published an article on their twitter handle with the headline below. The article was written to celebrate a Nigerian ‘first’ female mechanic. However many Nigerians on twitter felt the story title was inappropriate as it kinda portrayed all Nigerian women as prostitutes.
Moreover there are many female mechanics out there, at least I knew of one some years ago so it’s not even news but of course they could have such head lone for media publicity. Alot of people took a pissed at the headline and the channel too. See the reactions of some people as you read on…
