Body of missing KZN jogger found In Dalton

Missing KZN jogger Sithabile Mkhasibe’s body was found in a sugarcane field in Dalton on Tuesday.

A search party discovered her body in the evening.

Mkhasibe was jogging with her boyfriend Xolani Nxele on a district road on Friday night.
A drunk driver struck the couple, flinging the boyfriend off the bonnet. Mkhasibe was stuck on the windshield and the driver drove away with her.
The boyfriend, whose name has not been released to the media, died of his injuries shortly after the accident.

The driver, Mcabango Hlongwa, 37, is accused of dumping Mkhasibe’s body in the sugarcane field.

Hlongwa previously told officers he couldn’t remember where he dumped the body.

He appeared in court on Monday and was remanded in custody.

The deceased woman’s brother,Andile Mlotshwa, told News24, “We found her in Dalton in a sugarcane field. We were searching with the police and the little boy who was in the car that hit her,” he said.

“The boy had said that he remembered grass on the right hand side of the road and sugarcane on the left and with the police we managed to find her.”
