A woman was stabbed to death, boyfriend arrested

A woman was stabbed to death by her boyfriend in Delft, Cape Town.

The suspect, a 35-year old, was arrested on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said, “A 31-year-old female was fatally stabbed. A 35-year-old suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in Bellville Magistrates’ Court on a charge of murder once he is charged.”

The couple have two children, and have been in a longterm relationship. Family members say that this is the second time he attacked Xhali.
Zingisa Xhali, 31, was stabbed in her back repeatedly, with the fatal blow piercing her heart, killing her instantly. Her body was found in the doorway of a neighbour’s house.

According to witnesses, she ran to the neighbours house for safety. She had already been stabbed. He allegedly followed her and ‘finished her off’ at the neighbours house.

The Neighbour told the Daily Voice, “I was upstairs changing my clothing when I heard someone crying. I thought it was someone crying outside, but my daughter ran inside saying a woman was stabbed,” says the shocked neighbour.

“The woman [Zingisa] was on the staircase and she was bleeding – I could see the blood on her chest.

“My daughter and I took her downstairs because we wanted to get her help, but the boyfriend came back and he finished her off in front of us.

“We were screaming and shouting.”

Nkosinathi Xhali says he warned his sister to stay away from her boyfriend.

“A year ago he came after her with a knife and stabbed her twice. I begged her to stay with me,” he says.

“Whenever I wanted to confront that boyfriend, he would run away. This week I was told they were fighting, but when I got to the scene she was dead already.”
