A special task team is searching for suspects, following a brutal attack near Durban.
Four men were shot execution-style at a hostel in KwaMashu in South Africa
Police say the motive isn’t clear, as the killers took nothing from the room, but the KwaZulu-Natal Community Safety Department says there commonly tends be three possible reasons behind the violence at this hostel – crime, faction-fighting or political unrest.
However, according to KZN Community Safety MEC, Willies Mchunu in this instance, political violence is not a consideration.
“No political party seems to know those people as their members, and therefore we rule out a political reason. We are then left with the other two and that is where police, I’ve said, must concentrate.”
The SAPS is working with the community to get more information.
No arrests have yet been made.
