The Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group has blown the lid off on the scandal of how the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) tried to use it in 2015 elections campaigns after suffering so much harassment in the hands of the federal government earlier this week. According to a leader of the group, Aisha Yesufu, who tweeted the revelation on Thursday, September 8, the APC approached the campaigners during the election campaign period but was rebuffed.
Aisha yesufu of the BBOG has accused APC and Buhari’s minister of trying to use the group for election campaigns in 2015. Yesufu fingered current minister of agriculture, Audu Ogbeh in the act and claimed that the minister, who was just an APC chieftain at the time, eventually apologised for the move.
Yesufu’s words confirm reports in some quarters during the time that APC was using BBOG campaigns against ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, who was seeking another term in office.
BBOG convener, Oby Ezekwesili confirmed the truth in Yesufu’s words by retweeting her submission on Thursday morning.
Ezekwesili went on to warn the police IG, who attacked the group on Wednesday, that he is still in acting capacity until confirmed by the national assembly and should watch his steps. She also urged Buhari to bring back the missing Chibok girls.
