Martyn Ford’s got his own gym and advises people on how to bulk up – and judging from his amazing development, he should know.
A man who spent his younger years as a lanky chap has revealed his transformation into a muscular giant.
Once skinny and 6ft 8in, Martyn Ford was just like any other young man with no interest in muscle mass.
But now he’s a tattooed and muscular beast – with a career in acting and weightlifting .
The towering dad from Minworth in the West Midlands is tipping the scales at 23st 3lb and it’s all muscle.
The owner of Better Bodz gym appears in the new The Undisputed 4 film alongside English martial arts actor, Scott Adkins.
Ford’s character is called Koshmar, meaning ‘Nightmare’.
The motto of his gym – “Don’t wish for it, work for it” tells you a lot about how the physical force thinks.
Talking about his past skinny form, he wrote on Instagram: “We have all been there, no one accidentally grows muscle. However it often seems impossible to get good advice on how they did it!
“After being in that place, so desperate to grow and feel better about myself, I know how frustrating it can be.”
Although working out and eating right is a massive part of Martyn’s success, he also speaks a lot about how important the right mindset is to attaining your dream body.
“Mental preparation and success, in my opinion are far more important to success than any drug, supplement or food source.
“If your mind is not in the game, you may as well just give up and go home.
“This is what makes champions, the ability to get up, day after day, prep there food, hit the fasted cardio, do the mind blowing resistance sessions, push yourself to limits you didn’t know were there.”
He even shares his own motivation tips: “Think of your goals and the feeling when you achieve. Self satisfaction is an incredible feeling, visualise and try your hardest to feel that before you even start the lift.
“Think about what you DON’T want to become. Negative reinforcement is a great tool to kick start the body into action! The fear of been a failure is almost like the ‘fight or flight’ this will either crush or push you!
“Staying focused is key for success! You need to be clear and adamant on your goals.
“Know why you are in the gym, what your trying to achieve, and what your target is.
“The mind is a powerful tool, be progressive with your thoughts, optimistic with your views.
“I don’t like negativity, I feel it drags you down, eats away at you, I deliberately separate myself from negative people, on social media sites I block and delete them, in life I avoid or ignore.
“I find negativity is infectious and also very depressing. Make your friends people you admire and aspire to be like! Positive, driven and determined.”
