Oh No!!! The Russian plane crash ’caused by bomb placed in hold before take-off’

UK investigators fear someone with access to the hold of the doomed Metrojet Airbus A321 may have placed an explosive device inside, it was reported

UK investigators probing the Russian plane crash in Egypt suspect a bomb was placed in the hold shortly before takeoff, it was claimed today.

Flights between the UK and Sharm el-Sheikh were suspended amid fears an ISIS terror attack brought the Metrojet Airbus A321 down over Egypt’s Sinai peninsula.

UK security officials stressed they had reached no final conclusions about the crash, which killed all 224 people on board, but Downing Street said it was “likely” a bomb .

According to the BBC, security service investigators suspect someone with access to the aircraft’s baggage compartment inserted an explosive device inside or on top of the luggage just before the plane took off.

The claims come as it was reported the security clampdown at Sharm el-Sheikh airport was sparked by British spies uncovering an Islamic State bomb plot.

Spooks intercepted messages and Internet ‘chatter’ that showed terrorists had plotted a major terror attack in the region.

The communications were discovered after the bomb that brought down the Russian plane.
But the revelation led PM David Cameron to say it was ‘more likely than not’ that a bomb brought the plane down on Saturday killing 224 people.

Last night, President Obama made his strongest hint yet that there could have been a bomb on board the doomed flight.

He said: “I think there’s a possibility that there was a bomb on board. And we’re taking that very seriously.

“We’re going to spend a lot of time just making sure our own investigators and own intelligence community find out what’s going on before we make any definitive pronouncements.

“But it’s certainly possible that there was a bomb on board.”
