The case of the alleged human meat seller in Ghana is being investigated as police hunt for new accomplice

The Accra regional police have begun investigations to find the pastor who directed a market woman to sell human flesh at the Adabraka market.
This comes after the 60-year-old woman was nearly lynched at the Adabraka market in Accra Wednesday after she was accused of selling human flesh as meat.
The woman, whose name has been withheld by the police to protect her identity, was whisked away to the Adabraka Police Station by the Police and some good Samaritans after a teeming crowd had attempted to lynch her.

An eyewitness account at the scene indicated that the woman who was described as a ‘stranger,’ was found moving from one end of the market to the other with a big tray full of the meat that looked like the flesh of a human being.
Some of the traders immediately raised an alarm and within minutes, other traders had besieged the area to catch a glimpse of her and the purported human flesh.
The roasted meat, which she carried in an aluminum pan, was scattered at some places in the market during the melee.

A few pieces of the meat were later retrieved by the Police after they had rescued the woman who claimed she was new in the fish and meat trading business.
The Accra Regional police PRO, ASP Afia Tenge said the woman stated during interrogation that it was her pastor who gave her the spiritual direction to sell the meat in that market.
ASP Tenge said they have spoken to the woman’s husband and the butcher from whom she bought the meat.
The Police say when they spoke to her husband, he said he was unaware of any pastor directing his wife to sell anything like that.
She said investigations are still ongoing and the Police are yet to ascertain if indeed what the woman was selling was human meat.
